Yesterday was a pretty fantastic day here in SoCal. The 80 degree weather was so freaking amazing that I was inspired to do something that I have never done before. In the almost 5 years that I’ve lived in LA, I’ve never once set foot in Runyon Canyon Park to make the hike up the mountain. Despite the popularity (and relative ease) of the place, I’ve never wanted to make the trek … until yesterday.

I casually mentioned to David that we should go and he jumped on that moment of weakness and insisted that we go. I am so glad that we did … the weather was glorious and the hike was actually very fun. I don’t know that I’ll make a habit of hiking Runyon Canyon but we did have fun yesterday. As a treat, David took me to Amoeba Records in Hollywood, CA afterward so that I could get a few new records. I picked up Quiet Riot, Berlin, Missing Persons, Bon Jovi (Slippery When Wet AND New Jersey) each for about $4. Great score!!

Last night, after a bit of resting, David and I met up with our good friends Darion, David and his boyfriend Ray for a night of dancing at Cherry Pop! I was adamant that I had to dance to Britney Spears‘s Hold It Against Me and thanks to Darion, I got my wish last night:

As the night wore on, the song never came on … so Darion (with all of his charms) went up to the DJ and asked him to play the song for me for my 21st birthday. Voila! Best.Night.Ever.

Tonight, David and I are heading over to our friends Ollie and Caleb’s place to have a record party/Golden Globes/drinkfest. I hope your Sunday is just as rad as mine promises to be :) xo

Things seem kosher now because Xtina is bizzy with work, flying all around the world … but once she’s settled back at home, I hope Jordan and Max are able to hang out whenever they want to. Glee fans are more used to seeing her wearing a frumpy cardigan, checked skirt and unflattering knee socks. So at first glance, it’s a little difficult to recognise Lea Michele dressed up in a bulky American football shirt while filming a new episode of the show. The actress, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit TV series, wore her hair in braids, with her face painted with two black streaks. Despite her more unusual attire, Lea looked happy and relaxed as she strolled alongside co-star Cory Monteith, who plays her on-off love interest Finn on the show. Earlier this month, Lea had discussed the episode, which is said to air next year following the Superbowl. ‘It’s a lot of football stuff. You may or may not see me in a football uniform. That I will say,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. It was unclear if Rachel will actually be joining the McKinley High football team, or if her appearance was just part of an extravagant musical number. Other Glee characters Kurt and Blaine were spotted in the bleachers cheering her on, while co-stars Chord Overstreet and Mark Salling were also on the football field. Glee is now on hiatus in the U.S., with the next episode not airing until February 2011.

It makes sense that there will be a bit of football featured on Glee, especially since they are working on a special Super Bowl episode … but I would’ve never guessed it was Rachel Berry (played by Lea Michele) who would be joining the team … I can’t wait to find out how all of that comes about. Not only is Rachel a member of almost every club in high school but she can now add the football team to her list of extracurricular activities? To be honest, I’d expect nothing less.
